TAXI AND RENTAL CARS |

When visiting Long Island in the Bahamas, you will need to rent a car to get around.
Preferably a vehicle with four wheel drive or at least good ground clearance.
Taxis are available, but may limit your exploration of the island. |

The main road (Queens Highway) is in very good condtion for an Out Island, but other
roads vary greatly. For example if you plan on venturing to Dean's Blue Hole or
to the Columbus monument at the cape the roads get very rough in some spots. The
driveway up to the Goombay House is also mostly sand and cars with low ground cearance
will have to park at the bottom of the driveway. |
